Title: Slytherin Appeal
Author: sassy_cat
Pairing(s): Pansy/Neville
Prompt: #02: Snowstorm
Rating: PG
Word count: 100 x 4
Summary: Trapped together in a Greenhouse, Neville makes his move.
Notes: Too wordy for 100. Will have to try harder.
Wind howled and the walls of the greenhouse rattled. Pansy looked up with a scowl. Snow had been falling all day, but she and Longbottom had a Herbology project due.
Hours had passed before she noticed the snowdrift blocking the only exit. Shit. They were trapped until someone remembered them.
"Longbottom, if it's warm in here, why doesn't the snow melt against the glass?"
Neville stopped taking notes. "The Charm only warms air. It controls the moisture. The glass is cold. Touch it."
She reached out amazed that she'd never bothered to touch the walls. The glass was icy cold.
"You know we're trapped, right?"
"What?" He asked, alarmed.
"A snowdrift is blocking the door. Who knows how long we'll be stuck together."
He smiled and her eyes widened with surprise. She was certain he'd throw a fit about spending extra time with her.
"Good. Now we can discuss how much you want to be with me."
Pansy sneered. "That won't take long. I don't want you."
"Is that why you stare? Is that why you're out here in this weather?"
Her face flushed. "I wouldn't fancy a Blood-Traitor like you!"
"Whatever you say, Pansy, but I know the truth."
Inside she was fuming. He had turned out handsome, and he was proving his meddle this year, too. But she wasn't willing to let him know that.
"You know nothing. You may hope, but you know nothing, Longbottom. I watch everyone and I want good marks."
"Then I apologize for my presumption."
She huffed. The nerve of Gryffindors!
"Maybe I was hoping, because I want you."
"I'd chew you up and spit you out, Longbottom. Besides, what would your fellow Lions say?"
"Seamus would be miserable as he would have lost the bet."
"What bet?"
"The one where we kiss."
"What happens to Finnegan if we kiss?"
Neville chuckled. "He has to try to kiss a Slytherin, too."
What did that mean? There was nothing wrong with being Slytherin. Stupid Gryffindors. "And kissing a Slytherin is so vile that your kissing me would be upsetting to him?"
"It's not any Slytherin. It's Malfoy and he's to ask him for a kiss."
Pansy cackled. Draco broke with her after Potter beat the Dark Lord. Called her damaged goods for being scared. This eighth year at Hogwarts had been tense.
"Come here, Longbottom. You're about to get the snogging of a lifetime."
